DR. CARRIE BONE

A San Diego native, Dr. Bone graduated from the University of California at Davis with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She prioritizes keeping current with the latest theories and techniques in her field and particularly enjoys researching difficult and challenging cases. Dr. Bone shares her home in North County with her husband, her daughter, and her terrier-mutt named “Larry Bird.” Her time away from work is spent hanging out with her family, enjoying the San Diego waves, and trying to catch as many live music shows as possible.

DR. LIDJA GILLMEISTER

Growing up in Upstate New York, Dr. Gillmeister has wanted to be a veterinarian as long as she can remember. She graduated from University of Virginia and received her DVM from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Gillmeister moved to San Diego in 2008 and completed rigorous training as a rotating small animal internal medicine, surgery and emergency intern at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital. Dr. Gillmeister’s special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and preventative care. Her goal is to help clients optimize the quality of their pet’s lives using current research and medical approaches. When not at the hospital, she enjoys backyard orchard culture, cooking, hiking and spending time with her family

DR. ZOIE SCHAEFER

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Schaefer started her career working in animal shelters before transitioning into general practice. She is passionate about preventive medicine and providing care to underserved communities. She has participated in multiple volunteer missions to rural communities, providing spay, neuter, and wellness services. Dr. Schaefer’s interests include soft tissue surgery, pain management, and preventive medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Schaefer enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her dogs and cats.

DR. ALLYN MEYER

After graduating from The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Meyer was eager to return to her hometown of sunny San Diego, where there was not a snow-covered driveway to shovel in sight. Before returning home, she moved to Seattle, WA, to pursue additional training through an academic internship in avian and exotic animal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Meyer enjoys general practice because it allows her to build long-term relationships while providing pets and their families with compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. She has an interest in dentistry, imaging, preventative medicine, and soft tissue surgery. When not surrounded by animals, Dr. Meyer enjoys any outdoor activity or water sport, traveling with her husband, baking, and hiking.

Kallie

Kallie (Veterinary Assistant): Kallie graduated with a double major in Biology and Psychology from the University of Denver. In her free time, Kallie enjoys hiking, baking and cooking. Kallie has a lot of experience with animals ranging from childhood pets to interning at a wildlife rehabilitation and rescue centers.

Jessica

Jessica (Vet Assistant): Jessica started off working with livestock in 2017; she has since worked at dog boarding facilities, animal rescues, and horse ranches. After work, you can find her reading, at the beach, or listening to country music on a long drive.

Lauren

Lauren (Registered Veterinary Technician): Lauren graduated from San Diego Mesa College with an Associates in Science - Animal Health Technology. Lauren has been involved with animal care for several years and hopes to work with exotics in the future. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and going to the gym.
